The idea of establishing an Islamic hospital in the city of Aqaba first emerged at the beginning of the 1990s, following the successful experience of the Islamic Hospital in Amman, and given that Aqaba is the city that is located the furthest from Amman. and the fact that there was only one hospital in the city of Aqaba affiliated with the Royal Medical Services. On top of it all, its inhabitants, like others on the outskirts of Jordan, suffer from poverty in addition to the sheer lack of medical services, which made the idea more prevalent. As a result, it was necessary to bridge this gap by establishing a hospital that would address some of their health issues.
Thus, this hospital was established in 1992 with a capacity of 31 beds and saw its first patient on 26/02/1993. With its first admission and birth case on 27/02/1993, on 01/08/1998 Eight beds were added to increase the capacity to 39 beds. As the hospital expanded and with the surge of multiple medical specialties. The need for bigger and newer infrastructure rose, and on 25/03/2021, the hospital was moved to its new location at Mutah St., Aqaba, Jordan. Now The number of beds has reached (84), and the number of employees has reached (350) and counting.
